Shadow of the Beast Psygnosis (Reflections)1989Many years ago, on a moonless night, a small child was stolen away from its unsuspecting parents. Its mysterious abductors carried it far across the land to the mighty temple Necropolis.
There the child was accepted by the mages of darkness, warrior priests of the Beast Lord. Deep below the temple the child was escorted, passing through a labyrinth of rooms and passages to the Chambers of Creation. There the evil mages worked their dark arts creating strange creatures, plants and traps to guard the Beast's stronghold.
For the child they had a special purpose, but first came years of preparation.
Secret potions concocted from the blood of rare creatures slowly transformed his appearance - turning him from a human into a strange creature of incredible power, agility and strength. Deep hypnosis caused him to erase memories of his past life completely and become the warrior messenger of the Beast.

Many years passed in his service to the temple as he grew to maturity. Then one day he discovered an awful secret the horrible truth about his past...
a truth that now leads him on a trail of total and bloody revenge against his masters. You were that child.
Now the time has come to enter the Shadow of the Beast!***

Another World  Delphine Software1991There was only one chance out of one million that such an accident could happen. As for the consequences, nobody could have foreseen them. Certainly not Lester, who finds himself lost in an unknown and utterly hostile world. However, it is in this other world that he will rediscover the genuine meaning of freedom won by fighting, the feeling that each day is a new victory...***

[97]***The game allowed switching between PAL and NTSC and stretching the screen to fit independently. While this was intended to let the user display the image how they preferred on a 4:3 monitor or TV, it had the unintended effect of allowing square pixels and an undistorted image when viewed anamorphicly on a 16:10 monitor. The aspect ratios and letterboxing were intended, widescreen support was not, so the [gametag=widescreen]widescreen[/gametag] tag does not apply here.***

[37]***The Japanese title of the game is アウターワールド, but I'm unaware which ports were released in Japan to apply this correctly.

Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues  Team171993Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues has Gauntlet-influenced gameplay, similar to the original Alien Breed (and the Alien Breed Special Edition '92), but with many new features. As one of four Interplanetary Corps soldiers, you must visit a remote alien-infested colony and destroy the alien invaders. The game is split into 3 main towers: Civilian, Military, and Science. There are also corridors linking them and outdoor levels. In total there are 17 zones, each featuring numerous different aliens and backgrounds. As you go through the game you collect credits, which can be traded for weapons, ammunition, and other enhancements through the in-game computers. Keys are collected as you progress, which must be used wisely, as there are many rooms containing bonuses that don’t have to be entered. Just like before, the game can be played solo or with a friend.***

Dune II: Battle For Arrakis  Virgin (Westwood Studios)1993Dear Reverend Mother Marius Alethea Blasco:

The situation on Arrakis is critical. I have collected the information that you requested and strongly urge you to make a decision soon on this matter.

Frederick's political gamble has proved dangerous. Desperate for spice, he has challenged the three great Houses to compete for mining rights. The possession and Governorship of Arrakis has been offered as incentive for the House that delivers the most spice.

We have considerable self-interest in this war. Arrakis is the only known source of the spice, and it cannot be manufactured. We must make certain that whichever of the competing Houses prevails, our supply to the Gesserit remains continuous. We cannot afford to make enemies now.

I hope this report is useful to you. Please let me know if there is additional information that you require.

Your Servant,
Lady Elara Moray Trieu***

[37]***You're a starfighter pilot, the best of the best, but nothing in your training prepared you for action this hot. Deepspace dogfights against Kilrathi aces are deadly, and the future of humanity is on the line each time you fly! Wing Commander puts you in the middle of the most intense starship action you've ever experienced outside of a movie theatre. But in Wing Commander, you're the star!

- Thrill to the dynamic soundtrack that senses the action on-screen and alters the pacing, tempo and mood of the music to match!
- Advance in rank while piloting one of four unique Terran spacefighters against a deadly array of enemy ships.
- See the action from all angles using Wing Commander's player-controlled camera.
- Count on your wingman, a skilled pilot, thanks to the advanced Wing Commander artificial intelligence system, but don't get cocky: the enemy flies intelligently too!

Dreamweb Empire (Creative Reality)1994This game was banned for supposed 'sexualised violence' in Australia. As a matter of fact, the screen shot shown here is from the offending scene. The player controlled character is about to off the guy there who happens to be in bed with his girl at the time. The game is definitely not intended for kids and contains both sex and violence. But any 'sexualised violence' exists in the imagination of the base minded people who lack the education to know 'sexualised' is not even a real word. Videogame designers take note: You can kill all the videogame characters you want, before they have sex, but never after. labelimageminimize
